Hi! I’m Kelsey (they/them) and I’ve spent a decade and a half contributing to essential journalism like “She Said,” “The Sum of Us,” and the winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in Nonfiction, “Amity and Prosperity.”

I fact check deeply reported stories, books and audio — focusing on work impacting the environment, minority health, tech and pharma, government and social psychology. I’m interested in the intersection of the power structures that rule us and the systems that keep them in play.

Recently, my checking work for The New York Times contributed to Hannah Dreier’s 2024 Pulitzer win in Investigative Reporting and a National Magazine Award. I’ve also worked on Season Four of Serial, The Ezra Klein Show and features for Sunday Opinion and The Times Magazine. I hold and M.A. in narrative journalism from New York University, and my work has appeared in New York Magazine, The Times and other publications.
